Mainland Birthday Party

This past weekend we threw a joint birthday party for both Joe (whose birthday was April 20th) and Ciana (whose birthday will be April 29th). Needless to say it was a huge success and I think everyone had a really good time, I know Joe and I did. There was an outrageous amount of food, including the cakes pictured here as well as the food that Christened the new Bar-b-que. You should have seen all the men gathered around talking about Propane vs. Natural Gas and the best placement of burgers and dogs. We had veggies, fruit as well as meat and cheese trays. No one went hungry. We saw the kids off at about 4 in the afternoon and the adults stayed for hackey sac and to toss the football around in the cul-de-sac as well as wine and more food. I think things wrapped up late but Ciana and I made up for it with a much needed 3 hour nap on Sunday! Ciana was a very lucky girl and received lots of loot including some much needed summer clothes (I have been putting off buying the cute little dresses and the like knowing her birthday was so close). She had a wonderful time too playing with all the kids and ripping apart the paper and gift bags as well as sampling cake, veggies and cheese. She didn't have a chance to nap and was up really early Saturday morning so it was no surprise when she fell asleep in our friend Scotts arms at 6:20!! She was down for a couple hours and when we came in from the street she awoke from our noise, but was completely down for the count again at 8. Lots of time for Joey's section of the party! I hope you like all the pictures and there will be many, many more from next weekend when the festivities continue on the island at my parents house. We are so looking forward to spending time with family, some of whom haven't seen Ciana since Christmas, and haven't seen Joe since even before that! As I said I'll keep you posted!!

Joey's B-Day Present 

Almost a Year

Hi Everyone, I know that I've been inconsistant at best but I will catch you up on the latest developement- Ciana took her first steps last Wednesday night, two weeks shy of her first birthday. I was at the restaurant so had to take Joe's word for it (ha ha) but when I got home that night he was waiting up to tell me the good news. She has been standing unassisted for a little while but its official that now she is taking wobbly little tentative steps with great pride I must add. We are all very proud. Pretty soon she will be running laps around the house and flying in and out the doors, shudder at the thought!! Other than that we are settling into our new digs and trying to rent the basement suite before the end of the month. I have been working fairly consistantly and we enjoyed a wonderfully long and blissfully laid-back Easter weekend, Joe building his new bar-b-que and organinzing the garage and me catching up on laundry and housekeeping. Very unexciting I can assure you. i hope you all enjoyed an equally lazy holiday and I will try to keep the pics coming.

I'm am excited to report that my long dry spell without the internet is now over! We connected last night and I will be posting some pictures tonight of the new digs with furniture, baby and all. It was a crazy weekend last weekend but we powered thru and got it all done, the only remaining task is a few boxes to be emptied and remembering where everything is!! Anyway gotta run for now, hope all is well and as I said I will post some stuff tonight. Ciao.
